The Spire Denver, ColoradoThis client had just sold her property in an in-town Denver neighborhood, and was ready to embrace city living and modern style. She parted with many of the antiques that she enjoyed in her early 1900’s bungalow. She was embracing the freedom of downsizing to a high-rise condo with no yard, offering city and mountain views, and modern amenities. Having grown up on a farm in the Midwest, she had an appreciation for the great outdoors that seemed to follow her everywhere she lived. She had a collection of framed photographs (which she had taken) that reflected this appreciation. These would become an art feature in her Living Room, and would create the baseline for her palette. In terms of furniture, she retained a few key pieces: bedroom casepieces, a couple of sofas, and a club chair.Her unit offered walnut floors, light walls (which she loved), and expanses of window walls offering spectacular views and natural light. Her existing furnishings fit appropriately in the space, and contributed to an overall neutral palette of browns that worked nicely with her flooring. Her objective was to build an overall contemporary interior space with clean-lined, simple furnishings. Her nature photos would also serve as an inspiration for accent colors of blue / green, and also for a contrast of natural textures juxtaposed against a clean backdrop.
